Description
Headscarf with MNEMEE in the traditional way of coloring headscaves in Greece. “Kalemkiar” means a woman’s headscarf hand-painted in wooden molds with seals of that time made of linden tree. The biggest part of the headscarf is still hand-painted. This specific design pattern is from Thrace. The headscarves were painted by craftsmen or by the women themselves, with colors they got from herbs and flowers found in nature. The women used the same scarves both in color and in patterns, for the “ornamentation” of their head, in graceful ways of tying and delightful hairstyles.
We find them nowadays as modern ones, exactly as they were, combining the traditional headbands of another era and the deep desire to revive the style of every woman. Renew your personal style by discovering new headbands and by creating so many more, not only by completing the looks but also by highlighting the confidence of the modern woman.
BOMPARI with Kalemkiar
It is the way of tying a headscarf that we usually find as an inner headband (under the outer headscarves) and as an additional decoration but mainly to give more volume to the overall final result.
PIRATE with Kalemkiar
It is the way of tying a headscarf that we usually find in Epirus, Macedonia but also in islands and other areas of Greece. This way of tying a headscarf is often found in several Greek headbands for men and women.
